The Viareggio promenade is excellent to enjoy from the first warm days of spring. The wide avenue that develops parallel to the coast allows you to relax your mind savoring the scent of the sea breeze, stopping for a drink in one of the many bars or eating a fresh and delicious ice cream.
The walk runs along the avenues and Queen Margaret G. Marconi (coast side) and the streets D. Manin and G.Carducci (city side). The route, starting from Molo (and here I recommend you go to eat fish from Tito del Molo … a truly unmissable), continues along Viale Margherita in a constant succession of buildings with extraordinary features Liberty alternating with as many glimpses towards the sea, such as the beautiful “Belvedere of Masks” with the statue of Burlamacco, symbol of the Viareggio Carnival.
The beautiful avenue, however, offers the occasion to indulge in a shopping spree. They are clothing stores, footwear, Mega store and whatever you may need during the holidays. Definitely you will not go home empty-handed. Concentrated mostly along the Viale Margherita you find Benetton, Guess, Desigual, Alcott, Pinko, Yamamai and stopping Reasons maybe grab a snack from “Crepes & Cafe” or eat an ice cream at the “Gelateria Veneta” very good especially during the hot summer days. Also along Viale Margherita you are to jump from the Discworld and Mondovideo or stop to buy a book at Mondadori,
Once past the terrace of Masks, not without first having addressed a look at the wonderful seascape that presents you in all its grandeur, Via Marconi continues the parade of shops: Kiko make-up, Wave, Intimissimi, Sisley , Nara shirts and Napapijri. Here we recommend you stop for a moment to eat that delight the palate which is the Gelateria GROM.
Going back to the pier there is another important hub for shopping around the children’s park XXV Aprile. Here you will find the perfumeries Lemons and Valkyrie. Even in the area around the park there are great restaurants such as “Tomi Sushi”, the “Taverna Assassin” or the Osteria “Pazza Idea”, great places to eat before launching into unleashed torrelaghese night.
